The Summer That Changed Us

I went over to them and offered them both a hand up. "C'mon." I said.

"Yes, yes I am." I said and twirled her around.

I took it and got up,"thanks."

I stood up,"uhh.. yeah we usually don't get caught.."

"You're welcome." I said to Collins and then turned to the boy. "You're not caught, this is a secret. I won't tell anyone."

"Elizabeth. I also respond to Liz, Beth, and just about any other shortening you can think of." I said.

"You're great!" I laughed as we danced.

I looked at Troy, "Collins ditched you?" I asked, "To play soccer" I shrugged, "In this weather"


I nodded, "Apparently it's a tradition" I shrugged

I smiled,"Ummm ... Beth you might want to like bck away,Josh I call goalie this time,"I smiled.

I grinned and grabbed the soccer ball.

I took two steps back and sat down criss-cross.

"Terrible, this is just luck." I said.

I nodded, "I think so"


I sighed, "So much for tradition then" I muttered

"I'll see you guys later" I said and started running for thefield.

I smiled and kissed his cheek. "You're great."

I turned to the cabin suddenly shivering with cold. I slammed the door behind me


I rolled my eyes and walked to the soccor fields, I sat with Liz, "Hey"

I smiled,"you ready for Collins super sonic kick cuz!"I said smugly.

"Anyday little cousin!"I shifted from foot to foot,slipping abit in the water.

"Why thank you." I said twirling her around again.

"Hi." I said. "We're all going to get colds after this."

"Probably" I laughed sitting next to her,

"Hey you're going to play without me?"

I smiled up at him.

"Ugh, why does rain have to be so cold, why can't there be warm rain for a change?" I asked him.

"You cold?" I asked her.

I stood turned and kicked the ball.

I jumped out of the way.

I shook my head. "No, you?"

I laughed, "Warm rain" I said, "Would be nice"
