Shattered Heart

Fights and more fights
that's all I hear from you.
No time to stop for the night
and see inside of me the truth.

Love without love
that's all I sense from you.
Feeling there is nothing divine from above
that can help us fix this out of the blue.

Hate and more hate
that's all I feel inside.
There is nothing left from the one I called soulmate,
there's only uncertainty and a heart that died.

Pain and more pain
that's all that's left from you.
My heart has shattered into pieces in vain
because you don't deserve all the blood it shed without a clue.

The last poem is well-written, carefully pieced together, and just the right amount of repetition. Reiterating the point in each stanza. Finally, if you piece together the words that are repeated, it is exactly what happens, and what you feel when you have a shattered heart. After a fight, you're without love, but with hate and pain. The strong emotions portrayed brings the reader into the poem itself, into the person who has a shattered heart.

Though I still prefer "from time...". "from time..." is a poem that describes a lover, who has fallen into grievance and engulfed by sorrow, but finds a new one, and finally, leaves this world in peace. It's like a bell to those who have fallen from love, and are heartbroken to stand up and believe again, never giving up.

Finally, this is what I think of these two poems:

Stanzas that are so refined,
beauty fills the lines.
Ought to be proud,
ought to say it aloud.

WOW! I so like Shattered Heart. It is so intense and I can really feel where you are. Those feelings are no stranger to many of us!!

In search for the light

Lost souls in the deep blue sea
are searching for light in their nightmarish dream.
All searching for good,
but evil is all they see,
there is nothing that might help them seek that peace.
Everything is covered in blood,
and the oceans begin to rise,
different creatures from hell
are coming back to life.
Archangels and demons
are ready to begin the war
where only the innocents
are going to pay for it all.
And all hopes are down
there is no way to win,
there's nothing left at dawn
and death will come with the wind.

I came here wondering why I hadn't gotten and email in a long time that there was a new posting in this topic, and here's a poem that I had not gotten an email on!!

In Search for the Light is fascinating. Beautiful imagery. Sounds like a fantasy novel!!

Two Paths, One Solution

Feeling helpless a begin to cry
not knowing how it is going to end the night.
Emotions are ruling my self control
making me want to start to crawl.

I sat in the darkest place of my room
trying to think on how I was doom.
My heart is divided in two,
loving them both, did I had a clue?

No! I hear myself say
knowing that that was the truth
I wish I could find a way
to think things through.

My head is spinning
making me feel sick,
why is my heart aching?
Why can't someone just stab me with a stick?

I hear myself sobbing
the pain has outgrew
I feel how I'm crawling
to the darkest place on my view.

I hear footsteps getting closer
and my heart begins to race,
what if someone sees me in this conditions?
what am I suppose to say?

The door opened slowly
and I close my eyes, don't want to see.
Someone sits right next to me
and says my name at ease.

I then open my eyes and see
one of my lovers next to me.
He smiled at me and then I knew
that he and I were meant to be.

He held me tight in his arms
saying soothing words to my ear.
No matter how cruel time has been with us
our love will grow with the years.

My heart is divided in two
but even though it knows the truth,
only one has been my Warrior,
my lover, my friend, always loyal, always pure.

Wow, I like this one the best. It's absolutely dynamite! If I ever felt any of yours, this is the one--it makes me want to cry. Now we just need to put a title to it.

Nightmare with bad taste

Road of deception
guided by hate
fear and depression
building a gate.
the world around us
is falling apart
there’ll be nothing but dust
when sunrise starts.

Fire and more fire
will cover us all
all dreams and desire
will burn as we fall.
there’ll be no tomorrow,
no time to waste,
all that’ll be left is sorrow
a nightmare with bad taste.

This one is untitled and there are more to come with more light. Right now, I'm passing by a dark situation but all its going to be good, Thanks Count and Camara for being there for me. Hope you guys like it even though its not as good as the others, like I said, I've been kinda in the darkest point of my life, but always looking forward to make the best of it.


Woke up screaming and crying
feeling that my life just slipped away.
The nightmare of you dying
has shattered my heart in many different ways.

This is not happening,
this is not real,
this love story can't be ending
when my wounded heart was beginning to heal.

The truth of this dream has just begun to rise
when I saw your frozen body lay next to mine.
I don't know what to do, my thoughts are unclear
What am I suppose to do without you here?

My body feels numb, the pain is too much to bear
in my heart there'll be a hole filled with despair.
This can't be real, is not right,
What am I without you by my side?

No need for thanks among friends. Know that we are wishing to a joyous and peaceful end to your dark night of the soul. Remember, "it's always darkest before the dawn". The silver lining is that we're getting some great poetry!

Long Distance Love

Wanting you closely
Whispering into my ear
Those lovely words
I love to hear.

Dreaming about you,
Wanting you even more,
Can’t wait for the day
That I could hold you close.

This distance is killing me,
But it’s worth the wait.
Because when that day comes
I’ll be loving you and holding you
Till the end of my days.

Promise me one thing
It’s all I’m going to ask,
Please love me and hold me
Till death do us apart.
